Collage and Assemblage
When ordinary elements (such as old hair combs, zippers, or gift wrap) are applied to my compositions through collage or assemblage, I can manipulate my message in specific ways. Using these relics from life is, often, the only way to fully express a personal experience. I can't tell you what drives me to reuse objects one day and paint the next; it's a drive that fluctuates in me.

I fell in love with collage through book format initially. I have over 15 volumes of journals, all personal, all exploding with meaningful collage. My assemblage work is a 3D extension of this drive to revive what would be discarded or wasted items.
