I am a mixed-media artist and educator working in and around Baltimore, Maryland. My work ranges from paintings and collage to assemblage and sculpture installations. My mixed-media painting is introspective and has a very different feel from projects I create within a community setting.

Art can be a positive, empowering force. I know it has been for me, which is why I have a strong position about the importance of arts education in the community. I collaborate with many organizations to help them realize a vision for a given public space (mural projects, schoolyard beautification, exhibits, etc.). I strive to help individuals express themselves through art processes with meaningful, lasting results.

ARTIST STATEMENT
My mixed-media paintings, collages, and assemblage sculptures incorporate found objects to fuse personal meaning into layers of markers, pencils, and paint.

As a visual artist, my approach to painting begins with 'automatic' marks. Lines flow onto the surface as irregular shapes and patterns form. Complex color relationships unite these instinctive marks. Through this process, personal experiences are translated from a subconscious level to mixed-media abstraction.
